Sponsored walk update

The annual Langstone harbour walk took place on Sunday May 16th ably supported by the Hayling and Portsmouth Lions, who provided welcome smiles and drink breaks along the 15 mile walk. As always this was a great success, raising much needed funds for the Enable Ability Advocacy service. Although a somewhat blustery day with the odd shower there was plenty of comradeship and encouragement from all who ventured on the walk. A big thanks to all concerned

Refurbishment

The office is having a makeover, our aim is to improve the working conditions for employees but also to make us more efficient and professional in our work. A new reception area will be created along with a new meeting room. the main office is now being updated with a state of the art telephone system, new desks and a much needed  face lift for the decor and work stations. This will provide a light bright atmosphere, whilst giving privacy and confidentiality to the staff and our clients alike. Our aim is to have this all done by Easter, please watch this space for further news, Regards to all.

2010 Campaign

Enable Ability are starting a Campaign for Changing places toilet. Currently there are no Adult Changing Toilet facilities in the city of Portsmouth. The nearest one is in Alton which is 22 miles away!  Standard accessible toilets do not provide changing benches or hoists and most  are too small for more than one person. This means that families, carers and support workers are unable to go out at all, or if they do they are forced to risk their health and safety changing disabled people on a toilet floor.
