Langstone Harbour Sponsored walk 8th May 2011

Great Day, I think

The annual Langstone harbour walk took place on Sunday May 8 th arranged and supported by the Hayling and Portsmouth Lions, who provided welcome smiles and drink breaks along the 15 mile walk. As in the past this event has been a great success in raising much needed funds for the Enable Ability Advocacy service.

100_0609This year after a very dubious mornings weather the sun came out shining and turned this years event into a very pleasant stroll in the sunshine.  I was ably assisted  by my wife Sandra who for her endevours ended up with very sore feet, however we both manage to finish at a reasonable time.

Along the route we were attacked by the Ferry Boat Inn who insisted we went inside for a lunch with tea, rather than continue under duress we decided it would be best for all that we accepted this kind offer (although we did have to pay for such sustinance) .

Along the route we managed to bump into Yvonne Weeks The Mayor of Havant,  her partner and also Alf  the chairman of the  Hayling Lions, we had our picture 100_0608taken with them and after a quick chat about Enable Ability we continued on our way. It was all smiles and hello’s all along the route and encouragement from fellow walkers abounded. hopefully we will have raised a fair amount for enable ability and we look forward to next years event .Thanks to all who sponsored us and to the other walkers who took part.100_0607
