Enable Ability is recruiting staff for both Portsmouth Teenage & Youth Project, which support young people aged 14 – 25 years of age with a range of mild to moderate learning or physical disabilities that live in the Portsmouth. We provide a varied programme of leisure activities, which promote socialisation and help to build up confidence, improve self-esteem and independence; plus, at Youth Project – opportunities for supported volunteering and work experience

All activities take place in group settings with the help and support of trained staff & volunteers. The purpose of both the Teenage & Youth Projects are to encourage the young people to positively interact with their peers and develop life skills.

We require additional support workers for various positions. Duties will include; supporting young people with disabilities to get the most out of the activities and make friendships. Further details are explained in the job description.

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated and creatively minded people to help develop this service. Good communication skills are essential along with the ability to interact well with young people. A full driving licence together with use of a car would be advantageous.

No previous experience is required, just lots of patience & understanding.

Enable Ability will meet all out-of-pocket expenses (including mileage as appropriate) and provide regular supervision, a supportive working environment and opportunities for career development.

This position is subject to a DBS check at the enhanced level and satisfactory references.
