Our special needs summer playscheme provides for children aged 5 to 18 years requiring high levels of supervision owing to severe physical/learning difficulties and/or autism.
The playscheme takes place during the summer holiday at a local school. Transport is provided and all children are given the opportunity to participate in a wide-ranging programme of activities.
This playscheme ran from July 27th 2009 until August 21st 2009

For the first time ever playscheme ran from two sites enabling us to increase the places available to the children who are eligible. Our usual venue of Langstone Junior School, Lakeside Avenue, Baffins this year was the base for children aged between 8 year and 18 years. Children aged between 5 to 8 years were this year based at Cliffdale School, Battenburg Avenue, North End.
At the Langstone Playscheme there were a number of themed day activities. These included a spots and stripes day, Red day, Silver Day, Yellow Day, Circus Day, Super Hero Day, Around the World Day, Sports Day and activities when specialist dance and art teachers ran structured activities, the children also had an opportunity to participate in a drumming workshop.
