The Hampshire Youth Project volunteered for their second consecutive year, all the young people (and some parents who also helped out) would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the organisers of the Southwick Village D-Day Revival event for giving them such a fantastic opportunity to get involved in such a special event, particularly in the year where we celebrate 75 years of freedom thanks to the bravery of those who fought in World War II.
The event in Southwick has been running for the past six years, every year the event has grown in popularity to record numbers this year. The visitors to the event certainly kept our young people busy, selling lots of merchandise, raising money for SSAFA the Armed Forces charity, as well as organising the event's treasure hunt, a popular activity for the children where any completed treasure hunt sheets were marked and medals awarded to all who took part.
Southwick Committee Member and Merchandising Manager Sarah Jane Black was amazed by how quickly our young people learnt how to run the stall and was delighted with the time and effort they gave to contribute towards making the event a great success.
All twelve young people who took part should be very proud of themselves and here are just a few photos from the two day weekend event!
