You will all have read of Harley Salter's recent exploits to help raise money for Enable Ability's Hampshire Youth Project and the Rowan's Hospice by performing a series of ten challenges (the X-Missions Possible). On Thursday 5th and Friday 6th of September Harley and his mother Vanessa met first with the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth for tea, and then were visited by MP and Patron Penny Mordaunt to receive the news of his final fundraising of a staggering £2,645 (and 7 pence!).
Attached are some pictures of the meeting at the Lord Mayors parlour for tea and the meeting with Penny Mordaunt the following day at the Enable Ability offices in Copnor Road, Portsmouth.
Penny Mordaunt was very impressed with Harley's achievements, his favourite being the zip-wire ride in Snowdonia where he sped along at speeds of up to 100mph. Penny told him that the bravest thing she had done was in the TV diving show called 'Splash' and she presented Harley with a foam hand from the TV show, signed by all the celebrity contestants, for Harley to use as he saw fit.
It has been a fantastic summer for Harley and we wish him well in his next ventures.
Congratulations and thanks to him and his supportive family from all at Enable Ability.
