This lockdown period has been a real tough haul, we're sure you would agree. So what would one do to cheer up your service users.....? Deliver lockdown goody bags of course!
That's exactly what our Project Leader, Chelsey Langdown, and Support Worker, Carl Price, did last week for each of our 27 young people who usually attend our Portsmouth Youth Project. Chelsey spent lots of time collecting various bits such as colouring packs, sweets, pots with soil, sunflower seeds and more, packaged the items up in individual bags with the help of her mum, and then delivered them with fellow colleague Carl (with social distancing measures in place of course)!
"From the start of lockdown, I have been struggling so I can't imagine how they (our young people) must be feeling. The day we delivered it was so hot, but seeing all their faces brighten up when they saw us was worth every minute of it. It's the little things that make a big difference." Chelsey, PYP Project Leader
You can see the surprise visit sure did put a smile on their faces! Well done Chelsey and Carl, what a lovely thing to do! See the fantastic video on our Facebook page.
