Dear Friends

I am writing to you with an update on Enable Ability services following the new guidance issued by the Government on November 5th relating to the Coronavirus pandemic. Many of our services will need to be suspended for the 4 week period as a result of additional restrictions to safeguard peoples health. We are unable to provide Saturday Club, all of the junior,  teenage and youth projects, adult and child befriending, and wheelchair basketball during this period. We are in dialogue with Portsmouth City Council regarding the befriending service and will respond to requests from social workers to provide a service where it is essential for the safety and well being of a young person, and of course it is safe for our staff.

Most activities at Landport Community Centre are suspended, but we are able to remain open as a workplace for some interactiv projects that are classified as educational. We intend to provide meals from our kitchen at Landport for 2 community projects, totalling 120 meals per week. We may be able to extend this provision, so if you know of a family or community project that would benefit from a hot meal during this lockdown, please contact Alan Jenkins our centre manager at Landport at, or call our main office on 02392 671846

Many of our staff are furloughed at this time, but our Copnor Office is open and staffed, so if you have any queries or concerns, please call on the number above or email

I will provide a further update when guidance changes, hopefully in the not too distant future.

On behalf of the staff, volunteers and trustees of Enable Ability, I wish you and your families safe passage through this difficult time

Jon Muller
