On Sunday 19th January, Hampshire Youth Project headed off to Brighton for the afternoon. After a short journey on the minibus, we rocked up outside Phileas Fogg's World of Adventures; voted Brighton's top attraction full of actors, challenges for all abilities and multi-million pound sets.
On entering, we were greeted by Prince Albert himself who was incredibly accommodating. He escorted the group up to their steampunk-style bar and cafe. One of our young people surprised everyone with an extremely talented classical ensemble on a piano situated in the corner of the bar during our lunch period.
After lunch is when all the fun started! The group was split into two to compete against each other in separate challenges, suitably named team ‘Enable’ versus team ‘Ability’. Each group was led through by Phileas Fogg, who would reward the team with one gold star for every challenge completed. It was a race against the clock to travel around the world. Our challenges varied from Venice, Tunisia, Egypt, The Jungle, India, America, England and many more! Everyone said on the minibus back home what a brilliant time they had during this activity.
Thank you to Phileas Fogg’s World of Adventures for their humble hospitality. The attraction's staff were the most friendly and accommodating staff we have ever had the privilege of working with. Every young person was made to feel included which is exactly what we stand for at Enable Ability, well done to everyone involved! See you again soon....
