Our young people from Portsmouth Youth Project are gearing themselves up for a month-long sponsored walk which starts next Monday, 1st March!
The 'March in March to Wembley' fundraising venture has materialised following the cancellation of one of the project's planned activities in 2020, when the first Covid-19 lockdown meant they had to miss out on their exciting trip to Wembley Stadium to see the EFL Trophy final match between Portsmouth FC and Salford City FC.
So with events soon on the horizon, throughout the whole of March a number of young people and staff from the project have signed themselves up to collectively walk the 183 mile round-trip (the distance from Enable Ability's office to Wembley Stadium and back). However, they will complete the walks much closer to home- around local estates, parks, beaches, woodlands etc. Each participant will be providing evidence along the way of the individual miles they have accumulated, using a range of devices or apps to help them keep track of their achievements!
The young people and staff from Portsmouth Youth Project are raising as much as possible for this sponsored walk so that they can plan lots of exciting things, including a 'Big Day Out', work experience and more once restrictions have been lifted. If you would like to support them with the event, you can do so through the JustGiving page found here.
Good luck Portsmouth Youth Project!!
