All weekly projects run by Enable Ability were back into full swing over the weekend.
Project Leader James Donougher said "It was so good to see everyone again after so long, it felt so easy returning to work and the young people were just the same as when we had to suddenly put a stop to our weekly activities back in March".
James' projects decided to start with two sport-related sessions where they were joined by the incredible Quality Wrestling team on Southsea Common doing some really fun and engaging sports/games activities with the Portsmouth Teenage Project, the young people cared less about doing burpees as a forfeit!
Meanwhile, the Hampshire Youth Project were joined by the amazing Lee Davis Multisports where they did a sports and games session in Lee-on-the-Solent.
Both sessions were delivered outdoors (thankfully the weather was kind to them on their big return) and we received some excellent feedback from the young people after both sessions. Parents and carers were impressed with the videos sent to their young people before they booked onto the activities, the videos show the area/venue the activity will be delivered at and what social distancing measures have been put in place to ensure everyone is kept safe, equally the video shows exactly where to meet, parking and toilet facilities.
James wanted us to take this opportunity to express how delighted he was with all the young people who attended over the weekend by following our strict social distancing guidelines, this includes the parents/carers when at drop-off and pick-up. Well done to everyone involved and keep up the good work!
