Enable Ability will be taking over the day-to-day running of Landport Community Centre in Charles Street, Portsmouth from 1st July 2019. We require a creative and resourceful individual with sound business knowledge to take responsibility for the setting up and running of its café (which previously closed at the end of December 2018).  Appropriately qualified and experienced in all aspects of food preparation and café management this exciting opportunity will offer the freedom to put fresh ideas into action to ensure that the café is attractive, affordable and accessible to the local community. As well as offering excellent quality lunches, snacks and beverages, a very important part of the role will be to support young people with mild to moderate disabilities to enable them to develop their skills through work experience programmes. 

The post includes responsibility for menu preparation, the ordering and storage of stock, and the production of good quality meals and beverages within an agreed budget.  As well as fulfilling all obligations relating to food hygiene and health & safety, additional responsibilities will include the supervision of young people with disabilities to participate in work experience programmes to develop employability skills.
